1/4/2018 BOIL WATER ADVISORY INFORMATION (SEE ABOVE FOR REMOVAL INFORMATION)

Below is the notification & a copy of the text sent through the automated dialing service for the boil water advisory affecting parts of the Greater Johnstown Water Authority’s system and a map illustrating the affected area.

“Important. This is the Greater Johnstown Water Authority with an important message. This afternoon on January 4, 2018 a 20 inch water transmission main that is a major feed for the water system broke causing a temporary water pressure reduction for many customers. As a precaution, we are issuing a boil water notification for all customers served by this portion of the water system that will last until further notice. Please bring your water to a rolling boil for at least sixty seconds before allowing it to cool for consumption. Boiling the water will take care of any potential bacterial contamination risk that may have been introduced through a loss of positive pressure in the system until our testing confirms that the water is safe. You may use the water to bathe, shower, and flush toilets. We appreciate your patience as we make repairs to the system and test the water to verify that it is safe. You may contact us with questions at (8 1 4) 5 3 3-4 3 0 0.”
